County Government
Your county government at work
Public meetings of the Delaware County Board of Commissioners and the boards and commissions they oversee. These are where budgets get set, infrastructure gets planned, and growth decisions get made.
Board of County Commissioners
Every Monday and Thursday at 9:30 AM
Regular sessions where the three elected commissioners set budgets, approve contracts, and make policy decisions for Delaware County. Sessions are cancelled when Monday or Thursday falls on a legal holiday.
Regional Planning Commission
Monthly, last Thursday at 6 PM
Advisory body on zoning and land use in unincorporated areas of Delaware County. Reviews development proposals, comprehensive plans, and subdivision plats. Also has a Technical Review Committee that meets monthly.
Regional Sewer District
Via Commissioners sessions
Governed directly by the County Commissioners. Sewer capacity determines where growth happens. Sewer district business is handled through the Commissioners' regular sessions.
DelComm 911 Board
Seven times per year at 1 PM
Oversees the county's emergency communications and 911 dispatch operations. Meets seven times per year. 2026 dates: Feb. 10, Apr. 14, Jun. 9, Aug. 11, Sep. 8, Oct. 13, Dec. 1.
Delaware County Transit Board
Third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM
Governs the DATA bus system. Meetings are also available virtually via GoToMeeting. 2026 dates: Jan. 21, Feb. 18, Mar. 18, Apr. 15, May 20, Jun. 17, Jul. 15, Aug. 19, Sep. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 16.
Land Bank
Approximately quarterly (check for posted dates)
The Delaware County Land Reutilization Corporation. Meets approximately quarterly as special sessions of the Commissioners. Includes representatives from the Commissioners, Treasurer's Office, City of Delaware, and Orange Township.
DKMM Solid Waste District Board
Quarterly at 1:30 PM (Sep. at 12:30 PM)
Joint district covering Delaware, Knox, Marion, and Morrow counties. Meetings rotate among the four counties. 2026: Mar. 10 in Marion, Jun. 9 in Mt. Vernon, Sep. 15 in Mt. Gilead, Dec. 8 in Delaware.
Board of Revision
Complaint period: Jan. 2 through Mar. 31
Three-member panel (County Auditor, a Commissioner, and the County Treasurer) that hears property valuation complaints. Not a regularly scheduled meeting. Hearings are individually scheduled after complaints are filed between January 2 and March 31 each year.
District Library Board of Trustees
Third Tuesday of each month at 5 PM (no July meeting)
Commissioners appoint 4 of 7 members. Meets monthly (no July meeting), rotating among library branches. 2026 locations: Orange (Jan., Apr., Oct.), Liberty (Feb., May, Aug., Nov.), Delaware (Mar., Jun., Sep., Dec.).

Where growth hits the ground
Township trustees and zoning commissions make the land use decisions that shape your neighborhood. If there is a development proposal near you, this is where it gets decided.
Genoa Township Trustees
1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM
Meetings are recorded and posted on YouTube. Additional meetings are scheduled as necessary. No time limit for public comment.
Genoa Township Zoning Commission
2nd Monday of each month
Reviews zoning applications and land use proposals. Meetings may be cancelled if no business is pending.
Orange Township Trustees
1st and 3rd Wednesday at 3 PM
Meeting agendas, minutes, audio, and video recordings are posted on the township website.
Orange Township Zoning Commission
Monthly at 6:30 PM (check website for dates)
Reviews zoning applications for unincorporated Orange Township.
Liberty Township Trustees
2nd and last Monday at 7 PM
Check the township calendar for the most current dates, as holidays and quorum issues cause occasional changes.
Liberty Township Zoning Commission
3rd Wednesday at 7 PM
Meetings may be cancelled if no applications are pending.
Berlin Township Trustees
2nd Monday at 6:30 PM
Berlin Township Zoning Commission

Meets as needed for zoning applications and public hearings.
Delaware Township Trustees
3rd Monday at 6 PM (verify on website)
Smaller township with a basic web presence. Confirm current schedule by phone or email.
Berkshire Township Trustees
2nd Monday at 7 PM
All meetings are streamed live and archived on YouTube. One of the fastest-growing townships in the county.
Concord Township Trustees
2nd and 4th Wednesday at 7 PM
Concord Township Zoning Commission
1st Tuesday at 7 PM
Township governments are independent of the county. Commissioners do not oversee township operations or zoning decisions.
Municipal Government
City and village councils
The cities and villages within Delaware County have their own elected leadership and handle their own services, zoning, and budgets. If you live within city limits, these meetings affect you directly.
City of Delaware Council
2nd and 4th Monday at 7 PM
Delaware County seat. Live webcasting, video recordings, and minutes available online.
City of Powell Council
1st and 3rd Monday at 6 PM
Work sessions and special meetings are set as needed. Some dates shift for holidays. Video recordings available online.
City of Sunbury Council
1st and 3rd Wednesday at 7:30 PM
Agendas posted the afternoon of meeting day. Audio recordings available the following day. Meetings livestreamed on YouTube.
City of Westerville Council
1st and 3rd Tuesday at 7 PM
Portions of Westerville are in Delaware County. Formal council meetings on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays. Work sessions on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.
Village of Galena Council
4th Monday at 6 PM
Also available via Zoom. Agendas posted at five public locations around the village.
Village of Ostrander Council
1st Tuesday at 7 PM
Some meetings shift for holidays. Check the village calendar.
Village of Ashley Council

Municipalities are independent of county government.
School Board Meetings
Strong schools, strong community
Commissioners have no authority over schools, but strong schools are central to our quality of life. These boards set budgets, approve curriculum, and shape the future for thousands of Delaware County students.
Olentangy Local Schools Board of Education
Twice monthly on Thursdays at 6:30 PM
The largest school district in Delaware County, serving over 23,000 students. Board meetings are livestreamed and archived on BoardDocs.
Big Walnut Local Schools Board of Education
Monthly on Monday or Wednesday at 6:30 PM
Serves the Sunbury, Galena, and northern Delaware County area. Meeting agendas and minutes available on BoardDocs.
Delaware City Schools Board of Education
Monthly on Mondays at 6 PM
Serves the City of Delaware and surrounding areas. Meeting schedule and agendas posted on the district website.
Buckeye Valley Local Schools Board of Education
Monthly on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM
Serves the western portion of Delaware County including Ostrander, Ashley, and surrounding townships. Agendas and minutes on BoardDocs.

Active transportation studies and infrastructure projects affecting Delaware County. Public hearings are your chance to weigh in on the plans that will shape how we get around for decades to come.
ODOT District 6
Public hearings scheduled per project
The Ohio Department of Transportation district that covers Delaware County. Manages state highway maintenance, construction projects, and public engagement for road improvements.
US 23/I-71 Connector Study
Public meetings as scheduled
Active ODOT study evaluating options for connecting US 23 and I-71 in Delaware County. One of the most significant transportation planning efforts in the county right now.
State & Regional
Beyond the county line
Paying attention to the bigger picture. State legislation, regional planning, and statewide organizations that affect how Delaware County operates and grows.
Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC)
2nd Thursday of each month at 1:30 PM
Regional council of governments covering 15 counties in Central Ohio. Coordinates transportation planning, sustainability initiatives, and regional collaboration. Delaware County is a member.
Ohio Township Association
Events and conferences throughout the year
Statewide advocacy organization for Ohio townships. Hosts training events, annual conferences, and legislative updates relevant to township government.
Ohio General Assembly Committees
When the legislature is in session
State legislative committees that affect county government, including State and Local Government, Finance, Education, and Transportation. Committee schedules are posted on the General Assembly website.
Ohio Library Council (Public Library Fund)
Legislative updates as needed
Tracks the Public Library Fund, a major source of local library funding that is distributed through county government. Budget decisions at the state level directly affect Delaware County libraries.
