Campaign update: New materials, new momentum, new asks

Quick update from the campaign trail. A lot happened this week and there's even more on deck, so let me catch you up.

What We've Been Up To

Website and messaging overhaul. If you haven't visited ryangrissinger.com recently, go take a look. I've updated the site with sharper messaging and a clearer picture of what this campaign is about. The core message stays the same: Plan the growth. Protect what matters. But the way we're presenting it is tighter and more focused. If something jumps out at you (good or bad), I want to hear it.

Social media is breaking through. My TikTok posts about data centers in Delaware County have been getting real traction. People are paying attention to this issue, and they should be. AWS is building a $2 billion data center campus in Sunbury with a 30-year tax abatement. Google has invested over $6.7 billion in central Ohio data centers. These are massive decisions that affect our energy grid, our water supply, and our tax base for decades. When I started posting about it, the response told me what I already suspected: voters want someone asking the hard questions. Nobody else is.

New campaign materials. I've got business cards and trifold flyers printed and in hand, ready to distribute. We've also ordered campaign buttons, which will be here next week. If you need any of these materials, reply to this email or text me directly at 614-203-9405.

What's Coming Up

March 18: Meet the Candidates, 7:00 - 9:00 PM. I'll be giving a five-minute presentation on my candidacy for Commissioner at the Westerville-Genoa Democrats event, followed by a reception and networking. Genoa Township Hall, 5111 S. Old 3C Hwy, Westerville. I'd love to see friendly faces in the room.

March 23: Sunbury City Council meeting on the data center. This is the kind of meeting where decisions get made that affect the whole county. I'll be there. If you want to come along, there's now an event calendar on the website (ryangrissinger.com) where you can see all upcoming events worth attending.

Meeting with local leaders. Over the next few weeks, I'm scheduling sit-downs with township trustees, city officials, and other local leaders across Delaware County. The goal is simple: listen first, learn the issues from their perspective, and start building the relationships that make a commissioner effective on day one.

Commissioner meetings. I'll be attending upcoming Board of Commissioners sessions. If you've never been to one, consider joining me. It's eye-opening to see how county business actually gets done (and where the gaps are).

Good News Worth Sharing

The proposed Route 23 to I-71 connector that had a lot of people concerned? It's effectively been taken off the table. That's a big deal for the communities that would have been impacted, and it's a reminder that showing up and paying attention to these planning processes matters.

Here's Where I Need Your Help

I'm going to be direct with you, because that's how this campaign works.

I need a campaign manager. Running a county commissioner campaign while running a business and raising five kids means I need someone who can own the day-to-day operations: scheduling, volunteer coordination, event logistics, keeping the trains running. If you know someone with organizational skills who cares about Delaware County's future, please connect us. This can be paid or volunteer depending on the candidate.

I'm looking for interns. College students, recent grads, or anyone looking for hands-on campaign experience. Social media, event support, research, voter outreach. This is a chance to be part of something real at the local level where your work actually shows up in the results.

I need networkers. Here's a specific ask: if you attend any community events, networking groups, church gatherings, school functions, or neighborhood meetings in the next few weeks, would you be willing to carry a few business cards and flyers? You don't need to give a speech. Just be willing to mention the campaign when it comes up naturally and hand someone a card. That one-to-one connection is worth more than any ad I could buy.

Spread the word online. Share this newsletter with anyone who might be interested, and point them to ryangrissinger.com to subscribe. If you're on social media, follow the campaign pages and share the posts. The more people see this campaign early, the stronger we are by November.

If any of these fit you (or someone you know), reply to this email or text me directly at 614-203-9405.

The Bottom Line

Delaware County is adding 5,000+ residents a year. Intel and data centers are reshaping the region. Property taxes are on everyone's mind. Roads are getting more congested, housing costs keep climbing, and growth is outpacing the services that families depend on. The decisions being made right now on zoning and development will define this county for decades. All three commissioner seats are held by the same party with no independent voice asking tough questions.

That's why I'm running. Plan the growth. Protect what matters.

More next week.
