Do you have campaign postcards? I need them back.

Do you have campaign postcards? I need them back.

If you have campaign postcards at home, I need them back. That's why this is coming on a Friday.

What I Did

This morning I had coffee with a director from the county Board of Developmental Disabilities. While I was ordering, the woman at the counter said I looked dressed for business. I told her I'm running for office and handed her a card and a button. Her coworker came over and said, "Oh my gosh, I voted for you yesterday."

On Tuesday we opened early voting with a parking lot party at the Board of Elections, and I got great feedback at the Harlem Township candidates' night.

Almost every day now, someone tells me they've been a Republican all their life and they're voting for me. A lot of them mention my videos.

I can't fully express how grateful I am. Our volunteers, the committee members across the party, and the leadership of the Delaware County Democrats have given this campaign countless evenings and weekends. I'm new to this, and many of you have been doing this work for the party and your communities for decades. If I win, we win it together, and my job will be to represent you. Whatever happens on November 3, I'm honored to have been included in this group.

From the County

The Board of Developmental Disabilities levy is on every ballot in the county. It's 1.8 mills for five years, replacing a levy that expired, at about $63 a year per $100,000 of home value. On a $400,000 home, that's about $250 a year. The board serves more than 2,300 children and adults.

In May, this levy lost by 552 votes. Spread across the county's 180 precincts, that's about three votes per precinct.

The commissioners appoint five of the board's seven members. The levy itself is your decision. I'm voting yes on it, and I support the other three county questions too.

  • Give them to your Regional Captain.
  • Drop them at the coordinated campaign office.

Bottom Line

The polls I've seen look good for Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown. Let's keep our foot on the gas. Delaware County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Ohio and the country, and about 50,000 votes gets it a commissioner who plans for that growth.

25 days until Election Day. Early voting is open now.

Plan the growth. Protect what matters.

Ryan

P.S. Forward this to a neighbor who hasn't made up their mind on the developmental disabilities levy.
