Live or work on a busy road? I need your yard.

It's crunch time. The fair wraps up Saturday, our big signs start going up this weekend, and I need your help finding spots for them. Details at the bottom.

What I Did

I've been at the fair every day this week. On Monday I sat in on the commissioners' meeting in the Ag Center (more on that below). My kids rode everything they were tall enough to ride, and the steak on a stick was the best thing I ate all week.

Most of my time has been at the Democratic booth in the merchant building with our volunteers and the other candidates. People keep bringing up the same things: growth, traffic, property taxes, and whether our kids can afford to live here. I've lost count of the Republicans and independents who told me this will be their first vote for a Democrat.

At a house party last week, someone asked what makes me different from my opponent. I started with this. We're neighbors. She's been to my house, we run into each other at the grocery store, and we'll still be neighbors on November 4. We're opponents, not enemies. I'm running to serve this county, not to win at any cost.

From the County

Every fair week, the commissioners hold their Monday session inside the Ag Center at the fairgrounds. Sitting there, I wondered who actually runs the fair. It isn't the county. The fair is run by the Delaware County Agricultural Society, a private nonprofit. Its 18 directors are elected by the society's members, and any county resident 16 or older can become a member for $2.

The commissioners' role is the property. Ohio law lets them pay for buildings and improvements at the fairgrounds, and the society needs county consent before it borrows against the land. The commissioners took up exactly that kind of request in 2023.

Memberships are sold at the fair office, 236 Pennsylvania Ave., through October 26. Six board seats are up in the November 10 election.

What I Need

I need homes and businesses on the busiest roads in the county for our big 3 by 5 foot signs. Think US 23, Powell Road, US 36/37, Sawmill Parkway, Westerville Road (SR 3), or any road where traffic backs up. A corner near a stoplight is the best spot of all, because drivers waiting at a red light actually read the sign.

Here is how it works. You text me the address and give the OK. My crew puts up the frame and sign in a few minutes and comes back to take it all down after November 3. You don't buy anything, dig anything, or haul anything. If you know a friend or a business owner on one of those roads, text me their name and I'll ask them myself.

Text me at 614-203-9405. We start installing this weekend.

Have an hour and a car this weekend? Help me put signs up. Text the same number.

Can you cover the US 23/I-71 forum on October 6 and take good notes for me? Text me.

Big signs and frames cost real money. If you can chip in, it goes straight to getting more of them up: ryangrissinger.com/donate

Bottom Line

The roads on that sign list are the same roads people complained about at the booth all week. The busiest roads in the county are where growth shows up first, and nobody has a published plan for what it costs. That's the conversation I want every driver on US 23 to have when they see my name.

40 days until Election Day. 12 until early voting opens on October 6.

Plan the growth. Protect what matters.

Ryan

P.S. Know someone with a home or business on a busy road? Forward this to them.
