Meeting tonight, and a September 1 deadline

Three things need you between now and September 1. Start with tonight.
Meeting tonight, 5:15 PM (hybrid)
In person: Elevate, Corbin Room (Main Level), 670 Meridian Way, Westerville On Zoom: email ryan@ryangrissinger.com and he will add you to the event and send the link
We are sorting out postcards, yard signs, canvassing, and the fall event schedule. If you have been meaning to get involved and have not found the door yet, this is the door. Come even if all you can give is an hour a week, and take the Zoom option if driving across the county on a Wednesday night is the thing standing in your way.
The 23 to 71 connector: your comment is due September 1
Ryan spent the evening at the ODOT open house talking with ODOT staff, contractors, and neighbors from across the county. A lot of people showed up with real questions about farmland, emergency response times, and what this does to the roads they already sit on every morning.
ODOT has released its preferred route. Public comment stays open through September 1. After that the study goes to the General Assembly, and the decision moves to Columbus.
ODOT has been clear that they want people's stories, not just yes or no. If a route runs near your home, your farm, or the road you take to work, write that down and send it. Specific beats general. One paragraph is enough.

House parties are working
Thank you to Connie and Jeanne for opening their home, and to Scott and Josh for helping put it together. Ryan got to talk with people for a full evening instead of thirty seconds at a booth, and that is where this race gets won.
A house party is about ten friends, some snacks, and an hour. We handle the rest.

We are out of yard signs
The first print run is gone. A handful are still with precinct captains, and that is it.
That is good news. Signs move when people want to be seen standing with you, and in a county where no Democrat has seriously contested this seat in about fifty years, that means something. Thank you to everyone who put one up.
The next run goes to print in the next week or two. Get on the list now and we will bring one to you.

Postcards: almost out, next wave coming
We are nearly through the current batch. Another wave goes out in the next week or two, and handwritten cards outperform anything a printer can do.
Sign up for a packet: ryangrissinger.com/volunteer (check "Postcards & letter writing")
There is also a postcard party at Nocterra on Tuesday, August 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Bring a pen.
Pick your lane
Not everyone wants to knock doors, and nobody has to. Here is the full menu:
Talk to voters: reach your own network, door knocking, phone banking, text banking, postcards and letters, driving voters to the polls
Show up: event setup and tabling, host a house party, display a yard sign
Behind the scenes: data entry and office help, social media and digital, fundraising help
Special skills: tell us if you have a professional skill we should know about, or if you want to lead in your own neighborhood
