The people who keep this county running are backing us

Campaign Update: June 10, 2026

Friends,

Some real momentum to share, plus a few easy ways you can jump in this summer. Here goes.

A big endorsement

Ohio AFSCME Power In Action endorsed our campaign.

That is the union for the people who actually keep this county running. The road crews, the front desks, the offices that process your permits and answer your calls. More than 7,000 members across our region. They looked at this race and decided to back us.

That one carries weight. These are the folks who would work alongside the next commissioner every single day. When the people who do the public's work say they want someone who plans ahead and respects that work, that is this whole campaign in a sentence.

What we have been doing

We started knocking on doors. Real conversations with neighbors about growth, traffic, and what they want this county to look like in ten years. I have also kept showing up at the County Commissioners meetings, watching the sewer and development approvals that quietly decide where growth lands. You learn a lot about a place by paying attention to what it approves. And the listening tour rolled on across the townships, from Powell to Trenton and more still to come.

I have also been spending time on the issues that will shape this county for decades. I sat in on the data center and AI policy conversations down at the Statehouse, because those projects are going to hit our power grid, our water, and our tax base, and somebody needs to ask the hard questions early. Closer to home, I have been meeting with groups like the United Way and others working on housing and community needs. A county is more than its budget. It is the people and the groups holding things together.

One more piece of good news

My neighbors in Genoa Township elected me to the local Democratic Central Committee. The same neighbors who will see my name on the ballot in November picked me for a hands-on role helping run the local party. I am taking that as both a good sign and a responsibility.

Where to find us this summer

The calendar is filling up. The big one is the Fourth of July.

The Delaware parade steps off at 11 AM downtown, and it is one of the biggest days of the year in the county. I want a real crew walking with us. Here is the thing. There are at least four Fourth of July celebrations that same morning, in Delaware, Sunbury, Orange Township, and Ostrander. I can only be in one place. That is exactly why I need you.

Before then, come find us around the county. We will be at the Saturday farmers markets in Delaware, Powell, Westerville, and Sunbury, at Fourth Friday in Uptown Westerville on June 26, and at First Friday in downtown Delaware on July 3.

How you can help

Pick whatever fits you.

Carry a campaign kit. I will put together a bag of shirts, buttons, and literature you can grab from me and bring to a parade, festival, or farmers market, even one I cannot make it to. If you are headed to a community event this summer, be our person there. Reply and I will get you a kit.

Send me your shirt size. If there is any chance you will walk with us or work an event, reply with your size and I will have a shirt ready.

Put up a yard sign. They work. Request one for your yard or business at ryangrissinger.com, or just reply to this email.

Save the date

Last thing. On Saturday, July 11, we are throwing a party in downtown Delaware. Part birthday, part campaign fundraiser, and you are invited. The details and how to RSVP are coming in the next email. For now, just hold the evening of July 11.

The bottom line

This county is growing fast, and the choices we make now will outlast all of us. I am running to make sure that growth is planned, not chaotic, so the people who come after us inherit a county that is better than the one we have today.

Plan the growth. Protect what matters.

Thanks for being in this with me.

Ryan

P.S. Forward this to a neighbor or two who care about where Delaware County is headed. That is how this campaign grows, one person telling another.
